We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes, and the next wave of Vcad updates arrived last Saturday, May 9 2026. This release is all about speed, simplicity, and bringing our platforms closer together, so you can spend less time managing workflows and more time getting value from your data.
A More Unified Vcad Experience
Vcad is moving toward a more consistent experience across Standalone and ACC.
Whether you’re working in one environment or both, things will feel more familiar and easier to navigate. Just as importantly, we have closed the gap on feature parity, so all users have access to the same core functionality, regardless of platform.
The goal is simple: reduce friction. Less context switching, smoother onboarding, and a workflow that makes sense, no matter where you start.
Faster Than Ever: Conversion Performance Boost
Speed matters. With this update, file conversion times are up to 5x faster.
That means less waiting, quicker iteration, and faster access to your data in Power BI and beyond. Whether you’re working with large federations or frequent updates, the time savings add up quickly.
Easier Access with Social Logins
Getting started with Vcad is now easier than ever. We’ve introduced social login options to simplify access.
You can now sign in using ACC or Autodesk Forma, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Google, or a classic email account.
No more barriers at the door, just sign in and get to work.

Better Organization for Standalone Users
We’re bringing more structure and control to Standalone with new project and folder management capabilities.
You can now define and organize your data in a way that reflects how your projects actually work. Clearer structure, better navigation, and improved scalability as your data grows.

Improved Interface and Usability
We’ve made a range of improvements to the Vcad interface to make everyday workflows smoother and more intuitive.
Most notably, the Federation definition page has been completely reworked. It’s now clearer, easier to use, and better aligned with how you actually build and manage federations.
Alongside this, we’ve introduced a number of usability improvements across the platform to reduce friction and help you get things done faster.

Security You Can Trust
Security has always been a core part of Vcad, and we’re continuing to strengthen it with the introduction of optional two-factor authentication (2FA).
Users can now enable an extra layer of protection on their accounts, helping safeguard access while keeping the login experience flexible.
It’s part of our ongoing commitment to providing a secure platform you can rely on, while giving you more control over how you protect your data.
What’s Next
This is just the beginning of what’s coming to Vcad.
We’re already working on the next set of improvements to the Vcad viewer, including deeper insights, better performance, and a smoother experience throughout.
Stay tuned, there’s more on the way.
